Today being Eid Al-Adha, we were curious to know how some of our Bollywood celebs were celebrating Bakrid 2020 in lockdown, especially with the entire entertainment news industry barely getting back on its feet during the coronavirus pandemic. However, we have come to know that it hasn’t deterred Zaheer Iqbal, who had made a smashing debut last year with the heartwarming romantic film, Notebook, The actor has exclusively revealed his Eid Al-Adha 2020 plans to BollywoodLife, the delicacies he’ll be savouring with his family and the one tradition that he’ll miss the most, as, unfortunately, it wouldn’t be possible to maintain it this year under the circumstances.
Opening up on how he would be celebrating Bakrid in lockdown, Zaheer Iqbal
said, “Bakriid won’t be any different this year compared to any other year, because it doesn’t matter whether the lockdown is on or not; I spend Eid with my family. This year will be like any other Eid — spent at home, stuffing our faces with biryani
Upon prodding him a bit further about some of the differences that may crop up during his Eid Al-Adha celebrations this year due to the partial lockdown that’s still in effect, the actor added, “The only difference will be that we usually celebrate Eid with the extended family at home. This year it’s going to be only my immediate family. One more way Eid will be different is that usually after spending the whole day with my family, I go and I meet Bhai (Salman Khan
) at night. This year, I unfortunately won’t be able to do that.”
Elaborating on the special delicacies he’ll be savouring with his family, Zaheer mentioned, “Biryani and sheer khurma (a mouthwatering sweet dish, for the unversed), always. My Eid will always and forever have mutton biryani and sheer khurma.”
Eid Mubarak, Zaheer Iqbal, and a happy Bakri to all our BollywoodLife readers.
